Dear Valued DFW Airport Volunteers,

We appreciate your dedication and service to DFW International Airport and importantly, our customers. You bring the “customer experience” to life in our terminals every day, and for that we are exceptionally grateful, thank you!

Given the ongoing uncertainty and out of an abundance of caution, we intend to extend the closure of the program until June 2, 2020. It saddens us that we cannot see you sooner but the health and safety of our volunteers, customers, and staff is our first concern.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Ambassador Program Office closure, please call (972) 973-7000 to speak with a staff member.

Earthx2020

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, which gives a demonstrative voice in support for environmental protection. The first Earth Day is credited with launching the modern environmental movement and is now recognized as the planet’s largest civic event. Today, events are coordinated in nearly 200 countries. The theme for Earth Day 2020 is climate action. The enormous challenge — but also the vast opportunities — of action on climate change have distinguished the issue as the most pressing topic for the 50th anniversary.

In the wake of the global pandemic, Earth Day events are going digital for the first time in history. DFW is a proud supporter of Earth Day and this year's virtual EarthX celebration.

What would you do to protect our planet? The 5 categories: Sustain Natural Resources, Protect Water Sources, Conserve Energy Improve City Life and Reduce Climate Change. Many events will be virtual through April 26, 2020. You can access the virtual site at: https://eartx.org/

In addition to the many conferences, virtual tours, and events on Earthx, there are two benefit events for the earth coming up in the fall that I thought might interest some of you: A symphony, choir, film and spoken word experience for planet earth with the “The Way of the Rain” at Music City Hall Fair Park Dallas on October 23, 2020, at 8PM; the Earthx Global Gala at the Statler Hilton in Dallas on September 26, 2020, with Skip Martin from Kool & the Gang and Dr. Evan Antin who hosts Animal Planet. There will be lots of exciting entertainment at these events and more.

Please visit the website for many details on all upcoming events and how you can help “protect” our planet!
